New Years Resolutions... what's the big deal?

What is the big deal about creating goals for this New Year anyway? People create goals because they want positive change in their lives. The old saying "fail to plan - plan to fail" rings true if you want to improve things but don't take initiative.

My goal this year is to create a blog site to provide content and ideas to help people regain lost perspectives about what is important in life. People everywhere consume the limited time they have left on earth without any perspective on what is really important. Once we lose perspective, we focus on the wrong things and treat people poorly and live selfishly. We are selfish people by nature and our actions, money, and time follow our perspective at that moment. If we were to proactively feed and manage our perspectives a positive stewardship of our available resources would quickly follow.

Here is an inspiring video about how everyday people can make a significant impact on others:

My hope is that we continually reset our perspectives and then get inspired to do something meaningful with the time and resources God has given us to impact others for eternal purposes.

I liked your new year's blog emphasizing on gaining perspective. I am a teacher so I'll probably share some of your ideas, including the quote you've found, to my students when they return tomorrow. I look forward to reading more, but let me ask, are you planning to preach? I say, stick to the approach of coming to gain a real and true perspective of life through analysis and insight. If you start preaching with the bible, you'll probably lose me.

Best of luck!
